City of Lights to Small Town Living
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to go from living in a big city like Las Vegas, NV to a very small town with only a few thousand people?
Follow my rural lifestyle journey! I moved over 650 miles from a city with millions of people to a very small town of about 3,000.
The pro’s and con’s of a rural lifestyle are many. Small town living is definitely not for everyone. While many people like the idea of living in a rural community, it is completely different when you actually experience it.
Culture shock? Absolutely! Did I know anyone? Nope! Do I have any regrets? That I didn’t go sooner!

While I have definitely had my wealth of challenges adapting to this way of life, it’s taught me perseverance and vastly changed me for the better.
Being at one with nature and immersed in it’s beauty has been soothing for my soul.
I’ve fallen in love – with nature’s peace and tranquility. I feel grounded and connected. There is no buzz from the city. All is still and quiet.
The sparkling morning dew glistens through the morning sun’s rays that peak gently over the mountain’s ridge.
The rush of the creek water burbling behind my gate and the crisp, gentle breeze whispering through the trees comforts me – much more than blaring horns and sirens.
I’ll take the view of a million stars versus a million lights – though I’ll always love Vegas’ glittering lights – and the sweet, piney, earthy smells are well worth the sacrifice of a modern society.
